CLIQ XT gets some hands-on time

By Armo
engadgetcliqxt
The folks over at Engadget have gotten their hands on the CLIQ XT and have come away moderately impressed. They say the form factor is nice, multitouch is responsive, camera is good [but slow], Flash Lite performed averagely, touchpad wasn't useful, and the phone's speed was okay. Hit the link for a full run-down and some unboxing shots!

CLIQ XT Image Extravaganza!

By Armo

By now all y'all know that the Motorola CLIQ XT launches on T-Mobile on March 10. Our tipster got his grubby little paws on the keyboard-less CLIQ and gave us some good new info. First things first is that the neat little touch-sensitive side is absent; the whole thing was a rumor. The sides of the phone are just as normal as any other cell phone out there. Secondly, the trackpad is a waste of space. The thing is huge and serves no purpose. What is good though is that the phone is small, light, and otherwise fun! From what we've been told, the device comes pre-loaded with the i Music app which gives one unlimited music for free (via a cellular/Wi-Fi connection). When our source tried it out by downloaded Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers, the music player got the artist name and song title, but the lyrics were absent. All in all, the phone seems like a great mid-range, small, all-touch, Android smartphone. Too bad T-Mobile already has the myTouch 3G and the Behold II to fill this void. Nevertheless, hit 'More' for quite a few pics of the CLIQ XT.

bbslider
The first images of a new BlackBerry slider phone have surfaced. Courtesy of our friends over at Crackberry, we now have evidence of a possible touchscreen BlackBerry with a slide down keyboard. Whether or not this is a prototype or a final product is still unknown, but it raises some interesting questions nonetheless. Hit the 'More' link to read a few of my thoughts on a possible release as well as a link to pics of the device.

T-Mobile Wins J.D. Power and Associates Award

By Brian

It's that time of the year again folks. J.D. Power and Associates has crunched some numbers and has released the results. T-Mobile got a whopping 723 points while Verizon is a smidgen behind with only 722 points. It is only one point, but this win is the second consecutive victory for T-Mobile. Now keep in mind that the scores were strictly based off of retail experience only. Even though Verizon has a larger network and footprint, T-Mobile was able to show that it can be the best all around carrier. Way to go T-Mo! Hit the source link for more information on other carriers and their scores.
